金沙中国 College of Health Professions promotes, encourages, and provides assistance for research and scholarship and creative activities in all disciplines by the university faculty, staff, and students. The services cover guidance on all research administration including funding opportunities, proposal development, research compliance and post award administration.
Mission
The College of Health Professions Research Academy aims to promote a culture of research and external funding success through training, mentoring and support to advance the faculty's research capacity.
Goals
- Enhance scholars' relationships with and understanding of federal agencies and foundations.
- Encourage scholars to develop a team approach to enhance grant writing success.
- Provide information and access to on-campus proposal writing and submission resources.
- Provide information and access to colleagues with successful grant records to learn about successful strategies with federal agencies and foundations.
- Catalyze interactions among scholars and scholarly coaches to create robust and productive scholarly agendas.
- Create opportunities among faculty for multidisciplinary scholarship and engagement.
Services Provided
Research in the College of Health Professions (CoHP) is transforming and enriching the lives of the people of the Rio Grande Valley. The CoHA Research Academy is the primary unit to promote all research-related activities within the college. This Academy is responsible to review and approve grant submissions and contract proposals submitted to federal agencies and other sponsors. Examples of other grant/contract related activities are as follows:
- Identifying funding opportunities
- Reviewing all proposal documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations (institutional, local, state, federal etc.)
- Coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Associate Dean of Research will facilitate the final submission of outgoing proposals.
- Documenting all cost share commitments, as well as requiring approval for any variances in standard indirect cost recovery.
- Coordinating PI requests to the funding agencies on no-cost extensions and carry forward of funds.
